Manitowoc County worked with Ayres Associates to complete a countywide LiDAR project in 2016 to Quality Level 2 standards. The County was looking for a way to publish the data in a web-based map application for easy viewing and for making simple measurements. Manitowoc County’s 3D LiDAR Point Cloud app features 3D viewing of 6.1 billion LiDAR data points. High vegetation, building, bridge deck and ground LiDAR point clouds are selectable in combination with LiDAR elevation surface layers within the ArcGIS Online, public web application. High vegetation and building point clouds were colorized using RGB values from aerial imagery. 3D LiDAR distances and areas can be obtained using the 3D measuring tool widget. The presentation will cover the ArcGIS tools used in Manitowoc County to process DEM and LAS files. We will discuss sharing the processed data to ArcGIS Online and developing the 3D web scene and app.
